Mar 14, 2015: Quick Visit

Visited the CR for the first time since her layup, on this rather-bleak mid-March day, to check her condition and to start getting her battle ready for 2015. Exactly as anticipated, after a long string of disappointing emails back-and-forth with the yard holding Christina captive, nothing was done by the yard in preparation for her launch (in only 2-weeks) before our arrival.

Still shrinkwrapped from her winter's nap, the yard had a whole bunch of stuff to do (under the wrap) which they "couldn't get to" (because of the wrap)! Oh well, they still have 2-weeks to get a winter's-worth of work done! Getting ready to install the batteries (which, we requested they NOT pull)..

Getting ready to install the batteries (which, I requested they NOT pull in the first-place), 14MAR15…

The yard did a decent job shrinkwrapping, unfortunately that’s the only work visually confirmed completed since October of 2014, despite the Captain’s prodding throughout winter. They did, however, successfully lose several parts to her batteries… supposedly those missing parts are now on order (along with everything else)?

There is a WHOLE bunch of piddly bottom-work for this yard to complete in the next 2-weeks; officially putting in print now: this yard isn’t going to complete everything they promised by the due date of April 1st 2015…

Pretty sure I won’t have to print a retraction, but happily will if they somehow deliver and the Rose launches on-time. Any bets?

Happy Wakes! Feel free to drop me a note anytime, ChristinaRose@edickent.com
