Mar 28, 2015: 4-days 2-launch??

Arrived at the yard early this Saturday morning, to load up the boat with a bunch of stuff that has been filling closets of our house since last fall, hoping to find the boat unwrapped and ready for action in a few days. Instead, not-only was the Rose untouched for yet another week, but other boats and equipment was piled-up in front of her:

Not-only was Christina still wrapped, but other stuff was put in front of her. No, not an endorsement of this company at all; their truck is probably awaiting repair too... Pretty-sure they forgot another bullet-point: "B.S."

Loading a bunch of necessities onto the boat (yes, sometimes it feels like the TWO toolboxes are a necessity too)... 28MAR15

Had a couple TPS (throttle position sensor) errors last season on the port-engine, so installed new (despite never seeing an error on my tester), 28MAR15

A quick check of the full-range operation of the new TPS-sensor. Don't see much difference between new versus old, so we'll see if any errors pop up this season... 28MAR15

A fresh set of 16-plugs, the one on the left is original from when the engines were Dynoed in April 2013. Probably could have made it another season with these plugs, but I had time waiting for this yard to complete their tasks, 28MAR15

Installed new rotors for both engines; 2-season old (obviously) shown at top, 28MAR15

Saved the most-miserable job for last... pulled the generator seacock from the thru-hull again, after the quick in-water installation last season. Didn't like the fact I never put thread-sealant on the seacock last year, so I wanted to be sure no leaks (and that the seacock wouldn't seize to the thru-hull in a year-or-two). Absolutely miserable to get to, how I wish I replaced all the seacocks when the engines were out!! 28MAR15

So, just to recap… I’ve done more work to her in the last 3-weeks than this shop has done in the last 5-months, all of my work is completed in time for launch, and they still have to do the following in the next 3-days for her scheduled April-1 launch:
– Bottom paint
– Repair minor hull dings
– Repair port-side rubrail
– Replace 9 thru-hulls above the waterline
– Replace 4 engine-room vents
– Replace cockpit refrigerator
– Replace swim-platform carpet
– Remove kayak mounts from swim-platform
– Remove macerator and cap its thru-hull
– Determine port fuel-tank venting
– Replace 4 zincs

Okay, I might replace the zincs myself this week… pretty sure I’ll have time before her hull gets wet… Happy Wakes! Feel free to drop me a note anytime, ChristinaRose@edickent.com
